    Happy so far!
Have only used a couple of times, but happy so far. Have not used the vacuum attachment yet. Leaves are beginning to fall now. Starts up usually w/in 3-4 pull when cold. First pull when warm. Good blowing power, but seems like motor has more left to go. I'm sure there's a governor on it. Just doesn't seem to go "full throttle." But the power is certainly good for a household blower. Purchased because of the Stihl name, and the cost really was in line with stuff from the big box stores.

    Delivers as promised
I have owned a Stihl blower for over 20 years! Recently ran into an issue with pull starting the blower. After diagnostics, we determined that repair costs were greater than 50% of the cost of a new blower. With our experience of the Stihl product line we remained loyal to Stihl and purchased a new Stihl bower with the easy start factuality. The product lives up to it's claims. You will do well buying this product.

    easy to start
the blower is very easy to start. My 13 yr old daughter starts and uses the blower while we mow the lawn. I previously had a Ryobi and it was a good machine. I anticipated that the Stihl would have more power than the Ryobi; it does not. It is sufficient for our needs, but not any better for the few more dollars that I spent. I do believe it will last longer than the Ryobi

    Leaf Boss
I have owned several different leaf blowers but they could not hold up to the amount of leaves I have to tend to with my yard. I saw the BR 800 with the high wind speeds and figured I would give it a shot, since I live is a heavily wooded area that it takes a while for leaves to dry. With that being said, wet leaves, dry leave and even small branches and twigs did not stand a chance against the power of this blower. It’s taken a job of several days of taking and blowing leaves to just a few ... read more hours of blowing leaves. I cleared out a 20’x20’ area of 6-8 inches of leaves out in a matter of minutes. If moving a loathe amount of leaves is what you need then this is the blower for you.

    Great Product!
I have a 700 and needed a second one for my cottage. This is much better than the 700. The engine is smoother and it starts much easier. You can start it with it on your back. The power is outstanding. I use them for summer clean up, fall leaves, and blowing snow off my driveway. The 700 performs very well but this one is much stronger. I am actually looking forward to fall and winter. The added strap makes it fit me better. It also seems to balance the weight better. If you are looking for a ... read more back pack blower this is the one!

    BR 800 C-E THE BEST!
This thing is great. I wanted the telescoping wand so I went with the 800 CE instead of the 800 X and come to find this also has the side pull start. It uses very little tension to pull then it kinda recoils on itself to start the engine. Once its warmed up the side start works flawless. I have a very long driveway with leaves and acorns and sticks. The 800 CE moves it all. I haven't even opened it up fully on a leaf covered lawn yet cause I am still breaking it in. Along with the ... read more telescoping wand and side pull start it also has shoulder straps and hip buckle and chest buckle to keep it in place on your back. As a home owner I wanted to buy only one blower, with reputation, that can do it all and save me time.

    Great machine
I replaced a 2-stroke shredder vac I bought from a big box store. I had it for about 8 years and it still ran. But, the little things bothered me - the vacuum was anemic. the ergonomics of it sucked, it was hard to start, and changeover from vac to blower was tedious. The Stihl unit is infinitely better - always starts right up. Plus a couple of things I didn't count on: 1) It's much quieter than my older unit 2) Its exhaust (even while being 2-stroke) doesn't stink as much 3) The ... read more conversion between shredder and blower is WAY easier and the ease of use (While in vacuum mode) is better My only complaint is the plastic impeller. Not a fan...

    Good power
I am very happy with this product. I have bought many stihl product in the past. I bought this strictly for the vacume part because I already have a stihl BR 600 Magnum blower. The vacume has good power if your not careful it will start sucking up mulch and may get jammed. It got jammed a few times, but I quickly got is up and running. If you did want to use the blower it is somewhat difficult to change over, I only use it as a vacume so I never need to change it over. Besides that it works ... read more great and the starting is almost effortless.

    After six months
Good concept, but has its limitations. I bought this as light duty blower and shredder for my landscaping business. It is six months old. First the cons. DO NOT buy the model with EZ recoil. After the guys stretched the internal spring 4 or 5 times, I coverted to the traditional recoil. Now it is durable! The other negative is the shredder has limitations. Not intended for big jobs or wet material, otherwise it works great. For the pros, light weight, agile, decent blower performance for a small ... read more package, great in small places, and reliable motor.

    Awesome Leaf Blower!
I've had a BG86 blower for 2 years now and love it. I've owned the cheap box hardware store blowers in the past and they've all broken too quickly. This STIHL BG86 is really reliable and very easy to start no more than 2 pulls every time! If you have a lot of leaves to deal with then this is THE blower for you. The features are handy including the throttle lock so the throttle trigger doesn't have to be constantly pulled. Do your self a favor and buy one!

    Great Blower!!
Bought a BG86 from the guys at James River Equipment in Chester. Fueled it up with the Stihl premix - purchased with the blower to extend the warranty. Followed the instructions, a couple of pulls and it started, as per the instructions! Blows really strong and cleaned my yard up in less than half the time it took my old blower! Pretty quiet for a two stroke motor and fuel efficient. You can notice the quality of the build compared to other cheaper blowers. I now look forward to mowing, grass ... read more trimming and cleaning up the mess with my Stihl blower! Happy days! Ps. The guys at James River Equipment are friendly and knowledgeable!

ease of starting but difficulty of attachments
I truly like the blower but I would think Stihl could come up with a better way of attaching their attachments to the blower. The twist & lock is hard to do especially when trying to disconnect from blower. It is nearly impossible to do during cold weather. How about some kind of just pushing the attachment on with a clip & lock type connecting system. It is very frustrating. Thank you.

    BR700 is Awesome
I have two BR600 blowers that we have operated for years. I just could not resist getting more power. There is quite a bit more air flow and I have found it is taking less time to get the job done with the new BR700. When I am done with leaf season I guess I will be blowing snow off my cars and driveway with my new blower.

    Great experience, great dealer!
If you need a blower with plenty of power and air volume, this is it! Easy to start, very easy to use. This unit has very little vibration, which takes a lot of stress off the back and shoulders and, it is fairly quiet. I borrowed my neighbor's Husqvarna backpack blower to clear my leaves last year. At the time, I thought that was a great unit. Compared to my Stihl, it's just a good blower, not great. Everything about this blower is easy, from the start to the throttle, to the telescoping tube. ... read more I highly recommend it.

    Best blower for the money!
I LOVE my BR700, its easy to use, not as heavy as expected and the power is amazing!! The sound is a cool plus too. It literally feels like a blower gatling gun that annihilates massive piles of leaves wet or dry. For the last 16 years I’ve used a SH85 blower because I’m not a professional landscaper, yet dreamed of owning a backpack blower. I finally pulled the trigger. I was going to buy the BR450 but decided to buy the most powerful money can buy. I have zero regret, Stihl constantly makes ... read more the best quality products period. I'm sold! Great blower!
I've never had an electric blower before, but just moved to a smaller house and no longer needed so much lawn equipment. I have a small lot and small patio and driveway/walkway. This blower has as much power as I was used to on my previous gas blower, but you plug it in and turn it on--so simple! No gas/oil mixture to fool with, and it's super light weight! I love it! I didn't rate the 'dependability' heading above because I haven't had it that long.

I had a craftsman leaf blower.. just threw it in the trash... was goin to take it to my cabin, but after using the stihl 61, I'm just going to go buy another one for up north. Well worth the money!

Great blower, only a few minor suggestions
Excellent product. Made what I thought would be drudgery a fun job, and a quickly-done job. I only have a few minor quibbles. I'm left-handed so using the righty-only blower took some getting used to, and is still somewhat awkward for me. The hose between the blower itself and the rigid plastic arm and hand controls needs to be longer. I find myself needing to crook my elbow behind the plane of my standing body to hold the control handle, which limits the movement available in that arm and ... read more becomes somewhat uncomfortable over time. It feels like being restrained. This hose restriction requires me to walk back and forth more when blowing since I am unable to my extend my right arm to the position I would intuitively if the hose were longer.
